§ Mr. Solleyasked the Minister of Education whether she has considered the case of the Essex child, particulars of which have been submitted to her by the hon. Member for Thurrock; and whether, as the child was, in January, 1944, diagnosed as suffering from post-meningitic deafness and the Essex County Council were in that month requested by the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children to arrange for the child to attend a lip-reading school, it being their duty to make such arrangement and as, in spite of repeated requests, such arrangement has still not been made, she will set up a committee of inquiry to investigate and report on the conduct of the council in this matter.
§ Miss WilkinsonI am looking into this question and will communicate with my hon. Friend.
