HC Deb 27 November 1945 vol 416 cc1246-7W
Flying Officer Bowden

asked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware that ex-prisoners of war liberated from Germany are being sent overseas; and will he arrange for all ex-prisoners to have Christmas at home.

Mr. Lawson

As regards overseas posting I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave on 30th October to Questions by my hon. Friends the Members for Heywood and Radcliffe (Mr. Whittaker) and Newton (Sir R. Young). The groups liable for overseas service vary as the release scheme progresses. As regards Christmas leave, I would refer him to the statement I made on 23rd November.

Mr. F. Lee

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will take steps to prevent ex-prisoners of war, who have not been able to spend a Christmas at home for a number of years, being sent overseas, and enable them to spend the coming Christmas with their families.

Mr. Lawson

I would refer my hon. Friend to the statement I made regarding Christmas leave on 23rd November.
