HC Deb 26 November 1945 vol 416 cc1033-4W
Colonel Stoddart-Scott

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he intends to send to Germany a delegation of British woolcombers to find out the state of the woolcombing machinery there; and is he aware that an American delegation returned some months ago and published a report which covers the factories in the British zone.

Sir S. Cripps

Yes, Sir. Arrangements for sending a team from the Woolcombers Federation to investigate German machinery are well advanced. I am aware that an American textile delegation visited certain plants in the British zone in August. A limited number of copies of the report on their investigation has been transmitted to His Majesty's Government and one may be seen at the Board of Trade. Its contents will be made available to industry as a whole under the general arrangements for the dissemination of technical information from Germany, as stated in the reply given the hon. Member for Bury (Mr. W. Fletcher) on 14th November.
