HC Deb 20 November 1945 vol 416 c403W
Lieutenant Shepherd

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when dangerous street air raid shelters will be removed and particularly those in Lower Regent Street and the Haymarket.

Mr. Oliver

The work of demolishing air raid shelters which are dangerous to traffic is proceeding as rapidly as the present resources of labour and plant will allow. The shelters in Lower Regent Street and the Haymarket, having regard to the public services passing under them, present special problems which are under discussion with the authorities concerned. The demolition of the shelters will be begun as soon as practicable.
