HC Deb 14 November 1945 vol 415 c2272W
Mr. Haydn Davies

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in his talks with the Governor of Cyprus, who is now in this country, he will consider the restoration of democratic rights to the people of the island by allowing them to have a general election.

Mr. George Hall

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for Central Cardiff (Mr. G. Thomas) on 10th October. Progress in the development of representative institutions will certainly be one of the matters for discussion with the Governor.
