§ Mr. Somerville Hastingsasked the President of the Board of Trade what civilian clothing coupons are available, respectively, for returned prisoners of war, for officers and for N.C.O.s and men returning on leave from service in the East.
§ Sir S. CrippsOfficers and other ranks returning from the Far East, including ex-prisoners of war, have their essential needs fully met by the Services. Returned prisoners of war of all ranks are given 20 civilian coupons for the purchase of such items as pyjamas and shoes. Officers from the Far East can make use of the 21 special coupons issued to all officers for the purchase of recreational clothing. As regards civilian dress for other ranks to wear on leave, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given on 30th October to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Cambridge.
