Mr. McNeilasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport what representations he has received against the proposals to remunerate road haulage undertakings on scales based on less than the capacity of the vehicles; and if he has yet made any reply.
§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftThe scales proposed are those applied, in agreement with the haulage industry, to vehicles on long term hire, but certain controlled undertakings regard them as inadequate. A meeting is being held with representatives of the industry on 21st June.
