§ Sir P. Hurdasked the Under-Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs what progress has been made with arrangements for the reception of British men, women and children by the Dominions after the war; and whether arrangements will be made for emigrants to retain their war pension and other pension benefits.
§ Mr. Emrys-EvansAs regards the first part of the Question, as I informed the hon. Member for Maldon (Mr. Driberg) on the 5th June, it is hoped to issue a statement in the form of a White Paper or otherwise before the end of the Session. This will set out the position of the various Governments with regard to this question. At the moment, however, telegraphic correspondence with the Dominion Governments on the subject is not quite complete. As regards the second part of the Question, the answer is in the affirmative so far as war pensions are concerned. If my hon. Friend requires more detailed information I suggest that he should put down a question to the Minister of Pensions.
§ Mr. Bullasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he has considered the question of assisted passages to the Dominions; and what the Treasury is prepared to do in this respect.
