§ Mr. WillinkThe selection of tenants for Council houses is a matter for the local authority and no authorisation is therefore required. As regards the Government's views on the preference to be given to ex-Servicemen and the advice which has been given to local authorities, I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Holland with Boston (Mr. Butcher) on 14th December, 1944.
