§ Mr. Grenfellasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is satisfied that sufficient priority dockets and supplies of blankets are being made available for elderly people whose home and bedding were destroyed by enemy action and who have been unable to get enough bedclothes for the cold weather; and whether he will give authority for supplies where hardship can be shown to exist from this cause.
§ Mr. DaltonAs I have previously informed the House, sheets and blankets will remain scarce until more labour and textiles can be spared for civilian needs. A substantial proportion of the scarce supplies is already reserved to meet priority dockets, including those issued to persons such as my hon. Friend has in mind.
