§ Sir J. Graham Kerrasked the Minister of National Insurance whether the period of employment of all teachers in educational establishments is to be regarded as continuous throughout the year even though divided into terms with intervening vacations.
§ Sir W. JowittI assume that my hon. Friend has in mind the question of liability for payment of insurance contributions in respect of teachers during vacations. The general rule will no doubt be that this liability will depend on whether the contract of service continues during the vacation. The question whether any special provisions should be made with regard to teachers in this respect will be considered in the preparation of the relative legislation.
