§ Mr. Orr-Ewingasked the Minister of Health whether he has considered a petition signed by over 1,000 residents in Portishead, regarding the emission of grit from the Bristol Corporation generating station; whether he has yet received a report on the position from the Electricity 1646W Commission; and what action he proposes to take in the matter.
§ Mr. BevanYes, Sir. This matter was the subject of a joint visit by an officer of the Electricity Commission and one of my inspectors on 5th December. Proposals for further works to remedy the trouble are matters for the Electricity Commission who have written to the corporation as a matter of urgency indicating steps which should afford substantial relief.
