§ Lieutenant W. Shepherdasked the Secretary of State for War what steps he is taking to provide glass for leave trains in Germany.
§ Mr. LawsonContinental coaches were badly damaged during the war and very extensive repairs have been carried out, over 30,000 square yards of window glass having already been used. Unfortunately, substantial damage to windows is still occurring, despite strong disciplinary measures, and while this continues I cannot promise that the window glass in any particular train will be intact.
