HC Deb 17 December 1945 vol 417 c1054W
Miss Rathbone

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will give an assurance that, when the Peace Treaty is made with Italy and any other parts of the peace settlement affecting the future of regions of Africa which were victims of Fascist aggression, the representatives of Ethiopa will be given full opportunity of presenting their case in person.

Mr. McNeil

In accordance with the Potsdam decisions the task of preparing a peace treaty with Italy was entrusted to the Council of Foreign Ministers. His Majesty's Government alone are not therefore in a position to give the assurance requested by the hon. Lady.
