§ Mr. S. Marshallasked the Secretary of State for War to what extent the Forces' rations in any part of the occupied British zone have been cut to provide extra rations for the civilian population during the Christmas season; and if he will give an assurance that no young soldiers were prevailed upon to surrender part of their rations for this purpose.
§ Mr. LawsonNo arrangement of this kind has been authorised. On the contrary, a general order has been issued in B.A.O.R. forbidding Christmas parties for German civilians. If the hon. Member knows of a specific case where a cut is said to be contemplated, and will send me details, I will look into it.
