HC Deb 11 December 1945 vol 417 c344W
Major P. Roberts

asked the Minister of Town and Country Planning whether, in order that the amenities of Wentworth Park, near Rotherham, which are now available to the public in that area, may be preserved, he will take the necessary steps to prevent any industrial activity in that park.

Mr. Silkin

I have fully in mind the great value of Wentworth Park to those living in the neighbouring towns, and I am considering in consultation with the Minister of Fuel and Power how the preservation of its general character can best be reconciled with the present urgent need for coal.
