HC Deb 11 December 1945 vol 417 cc365-6W
Major McCallum

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that considerable anxiety persists among hill sheep farmers in Argyll and other parts of Scotland as to the future policy of the Government in regard to the hill sheep industry; and when the Government propose to implement by legislation the recommendations of the Balfour Hill Sheep Report.

Mr. Fraser

I am aware of the anxiety of Scottish hill sheep farmers to know the Government's proposals for the future of their industry. So far as legislation is concerned, I can only refer the hon. and gallant Member to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Perth and Kinross (Mr. Snadden) on 16th October last.
