§ Mr. A. Lewis asked the Minister of Works whether he is prepared to extend 348W the maximum limit under the civil building licence from £10 to £25, to assist builders in carrying out urgent sanitary repairs to working class houses.
§ Mr. TomlinsonThe limit to which my hon. Friend refers is fixed by a Statutory Order which expires on 31st January, 1946. The terms of a new Order are under consideration. I would point out that local authorities are empowered to issue licences on my behalf up to a limit of £100 in any one case for work of the type to which my hon. Friend refers.
