Mr. Bartlcttasked the Assistant Post-master-General whether he is aware that delays in the mail service from and to B.A.O.R. occur when weather is un favourable for flying; what alternative plans exist for the despatch of mail; and whether he will improve these plans.
§ Mr. LawsonI have been asked to reply. The longest delay which has occurred this winter because of unfavourable flying weather is two days. In the event of bad flying weather persisting for over two days arrangements are made for diversion of the mail to the sea land route—this has been done on one occasion this winter, and proved satisfactory.
