HC Deb 21 August 1945 vol 413 cc454-5W
Major Lloyd

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will supply the official figures showing the number of votes in the recent General Election for the county of Renfrew (Eastern Division) which were disallowed solely because the ballot papers had not been stamped by the polling clerks.

Mr. Westwood

I am informed that, out of a total of 79,378 ballot papers handled at the count in the East Renfrew division, the number rejected for want of the official mark was 191, or.24 per cent. of the total.
