Major Lloydasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether the Government proposes to introduce legislation, at an early date, in connection with the administrative side of Scottish education which was omitted, by agreement, from the Education (Scotland) Act, 1945.
§ Mr. WestwoodI intend to watch carefully the operation of the new Act before deciding whether it is desirable to propose further legislation. In any event, having regard to the heavy programme before the House, I can hold out no hope that it would be possible to introduce legislation on this subject at an early date.
