HC Deb 12 April 1945 vol 409 c2008W
Mr. Beltenģer

asked the Secretary of State for War what period of service in India members of the Q.A.I.M.N.S. and of the reserve nursing services are expected to serve there before they are eligible for repatriation to Great Britain.

Mr. A. Henderson

The target tour of service for Q.A.I.M.N.S. and reserve nursing officers in India is the same as for the Army, that is, four years or a few months less. But, owing to the shortage of young fit registered nurses, it is not at present possible to find enough replacements from home to ensure that the actual tour does not exceed the target figure.
