HC Deb 12 April 1945 vol 409 c2003W
Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Health whether he will now take steps to have a good hearing-aid mass produced and placed on the market at about £5, as good aids are beyond the means of most deaf persons.

Mr. Willink

As my hon. Friend is no doubt aware, a Committee has been appointed by the Medical Research Council to investigate the electro-acoustic problems connected with the manufacture of hearing aids. Consideration of any question of the mass production of these instruments must, I think, be deferred pending the completion of the investigation being made by this Committee.
