Mr. De la Bèreasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the ever increasing size of his Department, he will give an assurance that there will be a comprehensive survey of the whole structure before the end of 1944 for the specific purpose of enabling the Department to deal with the maximum amount of efficiency with the period of post-war trade.
§ Mr. DaltonI would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given last Tuesday to my hon. Friend the Member for Walsall (Sir G. Schuster). My aim is continuously to adapt the size and structure of my Department to the changing calls upon it, but always with due economy of manpower.
