HC Deb 04 May 1944 vol 399 cc1480-1W
Mrs. Adamson

asked the Minister of Health how many complaints he has received from local authorities about the transfer of distribution of clothing coupons for expectant mothers from health departments to food offices; and what administrative advantages were thereby effected.

Mr. Willink

I have received complaints from 18 local authorities about the transfer referred to. The advantage gained is that the expectant mother now needs to get only one medical certificate of pregnancy instead of two, and pays only one visit to the Food Office to obtain authorisation both for special food supplies and for clothing.
