asked the Minister of Health if he will give the figures covering the incidence of typhoid in this and other countries for the last year before the outbreak of the present war for which such statistics are available.

The last year before the war for which figures for other countries are available was 1937. The numbers of cases of typhoid fever in this and other countries during that year were as follows:
