HC Deb 21 December 1944 vol 406 c1970W
Mr. McGhee

asked the Minister of Health whether, as at the present time it is more in the national interest to rehouse families in the London region that have been made homeless by enemy action than to provide additional private educational facilities, he will reconsider the decision not to allow the local authority of Malden and Coombe to requisition a large house in the borough which will shortly be released by the War Department in order that the owner may re-open a private school which has been closed since 1940.

Mr. Willink

I have considered the matter further, but I cannot see my way to reverse the decision.
