HC Deb 21 December 1944 vol 406 cc1984-5W
Mr. Granville

asked the Minister of Pensions if he is aware that many ex-Servicemen of the last war are unable to obtain necessary repairs to invalid chairs and, in consequence, are suffering considerable hardship; and if he will take steps to remedy this position.

Sir W. Womersley

I am not aware of any particular difficulty in the repair of invalid chairs when application is made to my Regional Officers. At present, as may be expected, repairs take longer than normally, but arrangements may be made in any special case for the temporary loan of a spare chair. I have no evidence of hardship being caused, but if the hon. Member will let me have particulars of any cases I will look into them.
