HC Deb 23 September 1943 vol 392 c422W
Squadron-Leader Fleming

asked the Minister of Labour whether, before he inaugurates the proposed registration of women aged 46 to 50 years, he will obtain the considered opinion of impartial specialists in gynaecology and/or neuropsychiatry as to the deleterious effects, or otherwise, on the mental and physical health of women aged 46 to 50 years if they he harassed by this threatened calling-up?

Mr. Bevin

No, Sir. The registrations have already commenced, the 1896 class having been registered on 11th September. As regards subsequent action, my hon. and gallant Friend may be assured that all relevant circumstances will be fully and sympathetically taken into account in each individual case.
