§ Sir J. Mellorasked the Minister of Aircraft Production why Is. an hour is paid 431W for firewatching in a Midland factory, operated on his behalf, which has been identified to him by the hon. Member for the Tamworth Division; what rates are paid in other shadow factories; and whether the standard rate of 3s. a night will be substituted?
§ Sir S. CrippsThe rate paid at this factory is in accordance with the policy that rates of pay under firewatching schemes existing at the date which the Fire Prevention Order became operative, should continue. Comparable rates are paid in other shadow factories. The last part of the question is primarily the concern of my right hon. Friend the Minister of Home Security.
