HC Deb 22 September 1943 vol 392 c226W
Sir I. Albery

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport, in view of the service rendered by the railway companies and railway workers during the war, whether it is the intention of the Government to adopt some method of expressing, on behalf of the country, the general appreciation of these services?

Mr. Noel-Baker

My Noble Friend and I have on several occasions expressed the gratitude of H.M. Government to the railway managements and the railway workers for the great services they have rendered to the country during the war. I am grateful to my hon. Friend for this opportunity of doing so once more.
