HC Deb 22 September 1943 vol 392 c227W
Colonel Medlicott

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works whether his attention has been drawn to the refusal of his Ministry to allow the small quantity of timber required to repair for re-occupation two key agricultural cottages at Wroxham, Norfolk; and whether he will allow more latitude in cases of this nature in view of the urgent need for accommodation for agricultural workers?

Mr. Hicks

The facts of this case are as follow. An application for the reinstatement of these two cottages was received on 7th August last. The proposal was examined to ensure that the timber applied for was necessary on war-time standards of construction, and a licence was issued on 23rd August. A certificate for the purchase of the necessary timber was issued at the same time.
