HC Deb 21 October 1943 vol 392 cc1533-4W
Dr. Russell Thomas

asked the Minister of Health how many doctors represented the medical profession in the recent negotiations in regard to the future of medical practice; and how many of these act or acted as members of any advisory or other committees or in any collective or individual capacity in connection with his or any other Department?

Mr. E. Brown

A representative committee of 42 members was selected by the British Medical Association in collaboration with the Royal Colleges. My information does not enable me to answer the last part of the Question exhaustively, but of the 42 representatives chosen by the profession, 10 are also members of my medical advisory committee and I am aware of an additional three representatives who assist my Department as members of advisory committees or in an individual capacity.
