HC Deb 14 October 1943 vol 392 cc1066-7W
Mr. Jackson

asked the Minister of Health whether he will reconsider the financial provisions of the Rural Workers (Housing) Act, in order to bring them into line with present day costs of repairs and building?

Sir R. Glyn

asked the Minister of Health whether he can now make any statement in regard to the Housing (Rural Workers) Acts and the need to bring the terms into relationship with present day costs and conditions?

Mr. E. Brown

The operations of the Housing (Rural Workers) Acts are among the matters which are at present being reviewed by the Rural Housing Sub-committee of my Central Housing Advisory Committee under the chairmanship of Sir Arthur Hobhouse. I am expecting the report of this sub-committee before Christmas.

Sir A. Baillie

asked the Minister of Health whether he will state, by counties, the progress made with the erection of the 3,000 houses for rural workers?

Mr. Brown

As the statement is long and detailed, I will send a copy to my hon. and gallant Friend.
