HC Deb 14 October 1943 vol 392 c1067W
Major Lyons

asked the Minister of Health whether he can give an assurance that all public authorities concerned, especially in the port areas, have now submitted for his approval plans for their most urgent rehousing needs in the early post-war period?

Mr. E. Brown

I have now received proposals for a preliminary housing programme from 974 of the 1,470 housing authorities in England and Wales. More proposals are being submitted daily as preliminary difficulties are settled with the local authorities concerned. The proposals already submitted cover practically all the large ports and other large towns.
