HC Deb 14 October 1943 vol 392 c1088W
Mr. R. Morgan

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department, in what circumstances an administrative principal who received an allowance of £100 for special duties in another Department, is continuing to receive that allowance on transfer to his Department, in view of the fact that the duties he now performs are the ordinary duties of the administrative class in this department?

Mr. Johnstone

The officer in question receives the allowance referred to as he will—in addition to his normal duties—he required to deputise for the Director of the Division in which he is serving during the latter's periodical absences abroad on official duties.
