asked the Minister of Labour how many men and women have been prosecuted for being late for work or absenting themselves from work, giving the men and women separately, for the past 12 months?

During the 12 months to 31st August, 1943, 7,702 men and 1,690 women were prosecuted for absenting themselves from work or being persistently late in presenting themselves for work without reasonable excuse.
