HC Deb 12 October 1943 vol 392 c742W
Mr. Hannah

asked the Minister of Health why a licence to buy a duo-therapy lamp was granted to a Wolverhampton firm and refused to a Bilston firm, of which he has been informed, although the latter are further from a hospital than the former?

Miss Horsbrugh

As stated in the reply to a Question by my hon. Friend on 21st September, one of the considerations which is taken into account in advising the Board of Trade on applications for licence to acquire electro-medical apparatus is whether the apparatus will be used under proper supervision. My right hon. Friend's medical advisers were not satisfied that this would be the case with the Ultra Violet Lamp which the Bilston firm desired to purchase.
