HC Deb 30 March 1943 vol 388 c56W
Mr. Craven-Ellis

asked the Minister of Labour whether it was with his authority that factory inspectors have been authorised to take part in meetings at which attacks have been made upon commercial caterers; what representations on this subject have been made to his Department and with what result?

Mr. Tomlinson

The factory inspectors, in the normal course of their duties, have to attend many meetings and naturally cannot be responsible for everything that is said at such meetings. Representations on the subject have been made to this Department by the National Society of Caterers for Industry and I am considering whether any special instructions to inspectors are necessary in this connection.
