HC Deb 11 March 1943 vol 387 c874W
Mr. R. C. Morrison

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware of the inadequate canteen facilities at a works of which he has been informed and, in view of the fact that efforts by the employees have not resulted in any improvement, what steps he proposes to take?

Mr. Bevin

The inadequacy of the canteen facilities at this factory is due to a large expansion in the numbers employed. My Department has been in touch with the firm and with the Supply Department concerned; plans for the construction of additional canteen facilities are in preparation, and I hope it will be possible to proceed with the work at an early date.
