HC Deb 10 June 1943 vol 390 cc867-8W
Captain Strickland

asked the Home Secretary whether any conclusion has yet been arrived at with regard to the issue of adequate uniform to members of the industrial fire brigades; whether he is aware that at present the men have to surrender their own personal coupons for clothing essential to that fire service; and whether, as the matter has been under consideration since February, he will treat it as urgent?

Mr. H. Morrison

As indicated in my reply to my hon. and gallant Friend on 3rd June, the supply position is very difficult. Since that date the whole problem has been the subject of further discussion with the Minister of Production, with the problem of the supply of uniform to members of works brigades in mind, but I regret that I am not yet in a position to say whether any satisfactory solution of the problem can be found.
