HC Deb 03 June 1943 vol 390 c375W
Sir A. Knox

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether there is any prospect of the repatriation of noncombatant personnel arrested in Paris who have now been interned at Vittel for nearly three years?

Mr. Attlee

I have been asked to reply. I presume that my hon. and gallant Friend refers to the British women and children who are interned at Vittel in France. Negotiations are proceeding with Germany through the Protecting Power for the repatriation of these and other persons who are entitled to repatriation. If these prove successful my right hon. Friend hopes to be able to make a statement on the subject, but I would ask my hon. and gallant Friend not to press me for details while negotiations are in progress.
