HC Deb 21 July 1943 vol 391 c906W
Mr. Shinwell

asked the Minister of Information whether he is aware that, apart from Government spokesmen, including the Prime Minister's broadcast on the four-year plan, no hon. Member has been invited to propound views on reconstruction on the British Broadcasting Corporation; and whether he proposes to afford such opportunities to hon. Members?

Mr. Bracken

Apart from the Prime Minister's broadcast on 21st March, no Member of Parliament has specially broadcast his views about post-war reconstruction on the B.B.C. A few extracts from hon. Members' speeches on this subject have been included in news bulletins. Though I am sure that every Member of this House has interesting views on reconstruction, I doubt if the Governors of the B.B.C. could accommodate all of them in their overcrowded programmes.
