HC Deb 21 July 1943 vol 391 c921W
Captain Plugge

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will inquire into the depletion of staff in the grocery and dairy trades in the Rochester area which threatens to affect the feeding of the people; and what answer he has given to the complaints of the Rochester Food Control Committee on the subject?

Mr. Mabane

As a result of a resolution passed by the Rochester Food Control Committee the Ministry is inquiring into the staff position of the grocery and dairy trades in that area. No final reply has yet been given to the food control committee. In the meanwhile any member of these trades who finds himself in difficulty as regards his staff should immediately get into touch with the D.F.O. at Tunbridge Wells.
