HC Deb 21 July 1943 vol 391 c921W
Mr. J. Griffiths

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food why supplies of early potatoes were sent to South Wales from other areas when there were supplies available among the local growers?

Mr. Mabane

No early potatoes have been sent to South Wales by my Department since sufficient supplies became available locally. Between 15th and 17th June orders for approximately 475 tons were received and fulfilled from Cornish supplies. Since that time no orders have been received from, nor supplies sent into, South Wales.
