HC Deb 18 February 1943 vol 386 c1963W
Wing-Commander Hulbert

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he can make any statement regarding the death in an aircraft accident of Major-General Williams, Director-General of Army Welfare?

Sir A. Sinclair

I have been asked to reply. This gallant and distinguished officer was a passenger in a Royal Air Force aircraft which crashed in the Middle East on 5th February. The passengers and crew were killed outright with the exception of one airman who died two days later. I am sure that the House will wish to join with me in expressing sympathy with the relatives of those who lost their lives in this tragic occurrence.
