asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food the number of British Restaurants established in the city and county of Leicester, respectively; and the numbers of meals served in the year 1942 in these establishments in each of these areas, respectively?

At the end of January, 1943, 14 approved British Restaurants were operating in the county borough of Leicester, and 11 in the administrative county of Leicester. The average number of mid-day meals served daily from these British Restaurants during specified months of 1942 was as follows:—
