HC Deb 04 February 1943 vol 386 c1077W
Viscountess Astor

asked the Home Secretary what local authorities have appointed women police for the first time since the beginning of the war; which ones have appointed additional women police to their existing force; and which local authorities have no women police?

Mr. H. Morrison

The forces in which policewomen have been appointed for the first time since the beginning of the war number 13: in 16 forces additional policewomen have been appointed; and in 124 forces there are no policewomen. The list is too long for circulation in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
