HC Deb 03 February 1943 vol 386 cc908-9W
Major Lyons

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether persons who pay to reside in hotels are liable also to pay house-charge premiums in addition to the maximum price for their meals at such hotels?

Mr. Mabane

Nothing in the Orders made by my Department affects the amount of inclusive terms which may be charged by hotels for residence and meals. In the case of meals supplied to residents who are not paying inclusive terms, additional charges may be made in accordance with any licence to do so granted under the Meals in Establishments Order.

Mr. Lipson

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he proposes to review, in the near future, the house charges he has authorised for hotels and restaurants?

Mr. Mabane

These charges are under constant review.
