HC Deb 03 February 1943 vol 386 c908W
Mr. Thorneycroft

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will authorise his officers to disclose to the special committee appointed by the Manchester City Council and the Manchester Food Control Committee to inquire into fish supplied, variety, quality and distribution, in Manchester since the introduction of the Fish Zoning Scheme; the differences between the weight per head of the population of the fish distributed in each of the different zones during November and December, 1942; and the basis upon which the Manchester distribution centre was allocated 8.2 per cent. of the landings at Fleetwood?

Mr. Mabane

I regret that my Noble Friend is unable to authorise the disclosure of statistical information to enable a comparison to be made between the food supplies of one area and those of other areas. He will, however, be glad to authorise his officers to explain to the special committee appointed by the Manchester City Council the basis upon which the allocation of fish due to the Manchester area is calculated.
